We Exceed with Whatever We Set Our Minds To – Even Sports

Wrestling Club has been added this year to the list of clubs offered at LCS, but that does not mean that we are amateurs. This brand new sport at LCS worked hard through the season and it showed. Overall, 22 wrestlers qualified for state, where only two of them had any experience with the sport before this fall. The LCS Foundation gifted the Wrestling Club with new wrestling mats, and they are a wonderful addition to the school! As they prepare for the state tournaments in Castle Rock, Colorado this coming weekend, we are all wishing them luck and couldn't be prouder...

Recognizing Hard Work

Responsibility   Honesty   Generosity   Perseverance   Service   Loyalty   Forgiveness

Integrity   Courage   Humility   Prudence   Temperance

At Loveland Classical Schools' High School, students are expected to uphold the 12 core virtues that they are taught. On a daily basis, teachers and administration recognize students who are standing above the crowd demonstrating the virtues and setting an example for those around them. The recognition of these virtues is tracked over time and each student can see where his/her House stands against the others.   Though everyone would want only the good characteristics to be tracked,...

Lessons from Beethoven

At Loveland Classical Schools, Music is a special treat for our students. We study music theory, American Folk Songs, and explore Music through History - aligning with what the students are discussing with their History teacher. One great example of this is the Beethoven Unit I taught to my 2nd Graders last Spring. As it is generally accepted that Beethoven was a transitional composer from the Classical style to the Romantic, it is a good question to consider to which style the composer most closely related. We studied closely the "rules" of the Classical symphony. Once those rules are understood and examples of...
