Open to students in grades 1-12, LCS Student Government models itself after the three branches of the U.S. federal government. Congress serves the school by approving student extra-curricular ideas and helping with service and fundraising projects. The Supreme Court reviews congress’ plans and ensures they align with the student handbook. The President’s cabinet is the faculty branch of student government, which supervises government endeavors.
The Upper School Government meets every Tuesday from 3:20 - 4:15 in room 214. The Elementary Student Government meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. If a holiday happens to fall on one of those days, they do not meet. All of the Student Government events are posted on the school calendar. Elementary representative positions are a two-year term, which allows the kids from the previous year to mentor those coming up this year.
