Formal Fridays
Once a week LCS allows 6-10th grade students to break out of dress code and celebrate Formal Fridays. An initiative started by LCS students and approved by their student government, Fridays are for students to wear better-than-dress-code clothes. Therefore, top and bottom colors don't apply as long as the clothes are nicer than the dress code. For example, a t-shirt doesn't qualify.
Due to the variability of the reading of the word “formal,” Formal Fridays for the elementary school will be structured such that all clothing must remain in dress code. Please feel free to wear your best attire on Friday; however, clothing not in dress code such as those with logos or of a color not mentioned in the handbook will not be appropriate for the school day.
Students in the upper school will still be allowed to observe Formal Fridays with the understanding that they are in attire better than the normal dress code. For the male students, a button-up shirt, tie, and suit jacket are most welcome. For female students, please consider what you would wear to a job interview for a CEO position at a Fortune 500 company. Please bring a separate set of clothes if you are unsure.
Please note that students shall meet all other dress code requirements for skirt length, shoes, jewelry, and so forth. Spaghetti straps are not allowed. Refer to the Dress Code Policy for more information.
