Board President and Chair, Daniel Filler

Term: July 2015 - June 2017 (Member E*), SAC Liaison

Daniel and his wife Amanda are the parents of five very active children ages 8 to 14. He began his IT career at Hewlett Packard/Agilent Technologies 19 years ago and has an extensive list of certifications. Daniel has held multiple leadership roles within IT and is currently managing a large global IT staff and support organization.

Daniel lives for the times he can spend with his family enjoying the outdoors RVing, boating and fishing. He especially enjoys the quiet times where he can sit back and enjoy reading a good book.

Daniel is a singer/song writer and frequently plays with the band at his local church where they are very active. When Daniel is not working or spending time with his family, he enjoys volunteering at The House of Neighborly Service, United Way and Habitat for Humanity.

Board Vice President, John Lehner

Term: July 2016 - June 2019 (Member F*), Expansion Committee

John and his wife Cate, have two daughters at Loveland Classical Schools in the elementary program. John is a native of Colorado and in 2010 moved his family to Loveland where he found out about the formation of LCS at a King Soopers support drive. John and Cate have been passionate supporters of LCS and its classical education program dating back to these early beginnings.

John has been a member of the expansion committee since 2013 when space issues due to the growth of the school were becoming apparent. Although there were tough times with the future of the high school in question, John is proud of the work they have done in securing a solid future for LCS' K-12 program.

John attended CSU in Fort Collins where he received a degree in Construction Management. Currently he is a Project Manager for a large heavy civil and infrastructure company out of Denver where he manages and builds large scale development projects. He looks forward to using his construction management and contracting skills on the Board of Directors during LCS' time of expansion.

Board Treasurer, N. Joshua Dart, Esq.

Term: July 2015 - June 2018 (Member A*), Finance Committee Liaison

N. Joshua and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of four children, two of which currently attend Loveland Classical Schools. Upon his graduation from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington (Jennifer's home town), the Dart family moved to Larimer County in April 2010. The family found a home in Berthoud in November 2012, and was thrilled to find a school offering a classical education only minutes away. Mr. Dart is now licensed to practice law in several states including Colorado, and is Shareholder of a Law Firm with headquarters in Loveland and offices in Cheyenne and Denver. Prior to graduate school Mr. Dart was a serial entrepreneur in the Silicon Valley from 1998 to 2001. Mr Dart was also a Licensed Optician and Manager who worked closely with Optometrists for over 16 years. Mr. Dart currently serves as the Vice President of the Berthoud Community Library District Board of Trustees, he and Jennifer are active members of Faith Evangelical Church. Raised primarily in Southeast Alaska, Mr. Dart enjoys camping, fishing, hunting and all levels of baseball.

Board Secretary, Jennifer Thayer

Term: July 2014 - June 2017 (Member G*), Marketing Liaison, Board Development Committee

Jennifer and her husband Nicholas have two children, both of whom currently attend LCS. Her family moved to Loveland in 2008 and became involved in helping to create LCS in 2010 through co-leading support letter writing and participating in flyer campaigns, informational booths, and application review. Since then, she has been involved through classroom volunteering, grant reviews, helping to maintain the LCS website and chairing the LCS Foundation Benefit Auction.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering. She worked at HP for 10 years in electrical/firmware development and during her tenure, was chosen to participate in a Master's level training in software engineering. Jennifer enjoys spending time and travelling with her family, supporting her children & their activities, making crafts with/for family, and spending time outdoors.

Director, Denise Dicks

Term: July 2015 - June 2018 (Member B*), Foundation Liaison

Denise and her husband, Brent, have two children who both attend Loveland Classical Schools. They have been involved since the formative days of LCS, attending one of the first ‘would you be interested…’ meetings. Their daughter started Kindergarten during LCS’s inaugural year.

Denise has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, ranging from recruitment to managing an HR department at a technical staffing firm. She graduated from John Brown University with her Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting and received her Master of Arts in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix.

She enjoys volunteering for reading groups, helping in the classroom, coordinating classroom volunteers, and assisting at the benefit auctions. She helped in the early stages to develop the school’s volunteer database. She is devoted to the success of her kids, LCS students and the school.

Denise and her family enjoy camping, shooting, canoeing and archery. During many weekends throughout the year you will find them cheering on the kids in basketball, T-ball, soccer and swimming. Should she find herself alone, she enjoys walking and reading.

Director, Bruce Finger

Term: July 2016 - June 2019 (Member C*), SAC member

Director, William Hutchison

Term: February 2017 - June 2020 (Member D*), Marketing Committee

William and his wife Samantha have a daughter, 6, and son, 5, both attending LCS. They lived in England for 3 years and traveled Europe before deciding that Colorado was the location for them, and LCS was the school for their children. William has been a Certified Financial Educator for over 5 years teaching personal financial management in schools, corporations, and for individuals. He's been training and developing people and businesses for over 12 years. He is currently developing Financial Education Centers in Northern Colorado.

William loves to be around people and participate in improving the world around him. He volunteers with Junior Achievement and the Heart J Foundation teaching children boring subjects in a way they appreciate and look forward to more!

William loves new experiences, especially in regards to food. Of all the travels him and his wife have made, food is the most prominent memory from paella in Spain to vegetarian dishes in Israel. He enjoys playing board games and nearly anything involving strategy, as well as Sci-fi and the superhero universe, often depicted by his socks.

The LCS Board of Directors is always seeking candidates to appoint/elect to open board positions. To ensure the board has the breadth and depth to govern effectively, candidate skill sets are assessed and compared with currently sitting members, as per the Board Development Matrix, to identify areas of need and areas of overlap. From time to time, the board will identify and advertise the skill sets currently seen as most critical and being pursued. If you are interested in pursuing board membership, please submit the board application along with your resume to the Board of Directors. Anyone wishing to be considered for the board shall be required to sign the board agreement at the first board meeting following election or appointment.
